A quick update on Warhammer 40k, upgraded Transformers, and Malifaux site improvements.

Something I absolutely love is the Missing Link line for Transformers. They’re the G1 toys upgraded with rather more advanced engineering than they managed back in the 80s. This means they get proper articulation, where the originals were basically a brick unless a limb had to move as part of the transformation. Think of them as the toys you kind of remember instead of the disappointment that comes from going mad on eBay one night. I just got Grimlock, but the rest of the line is pretty amazing so far too.

I’ve been working on the Malifaux section of the site and I think I’m almost there with filling in release information and things. The history of alt models is a bit complicated, and finding out product codes isn’t always as easy as it could be. There’s still a lot of matching card variants to the box they actually came in to do, but I’m a lot happier with what I think has been released and what has current cards than I was a few days ago.

I’ve also updated the data behind the site to take into account the latest 40k releases. This is mostly for my benefit, as surfacing too much of that will make a certain company angry. The biggest annoyance is dealing with Ork Legends units. With the transition to 11th they’ve moved a bunch of models that had rules to not having any, and in typical GW fashion they’ve done it in a way that seems calculated to annoy as many people as possible. The old Legends still exist in the old BattleScribe data, which a bunch of new apps use now, so hopefully GW deleting units off their site with no warning isn’t too much of a problem for people.
