I need a break from Marines since they’re very boring to paint in numbers and I’ve started printing the latest Printable Scenery bits. I started with a short-ish print, one of the trench end pieces, which aren’t actually short prints because I swapped in a 0.2mm nozzle and am printing at the smallest layer hight. Does scenery matter if it has layer lines? No. Does this stop me always printing at the highest quality? Also no.
I need to have a paint scheme for them that’s really fast though or I’ll get bogged down painting them as well. I also need the print times to stop a big pile of models working as a depressing reason to not paint them. This means that slow print times are actually good and using the right coloured primer and some speed paints I can blow through them in less than an hour each, spread out over the day of course because that’s how I fit painting in.
