The problem with using 1 Step Dark Green for my Dark Angels is finding a conventional paint that matches it for vehicles. It produces a very specific blue-green, but because it’s a contrast-style paint, it doesn’t settle into a single flat colour. Some of the yellow-green highlights beneath it show through, creating the finish I’ve finally decided I like.

I don’t need to solve that immediately, though. The next vehicle is a Land Speeder, and that’s Ravenwing, so instead I need to remember how to paint large black things. Although… What if I want to paint the characters better? Now that needs some thought.

I’d also like to start seeing a day-to-day improvement in the quality of my painting. I can spot mistakes and areas that could be better, but I don’t want to keep returning to the same model and tweaking it forever. That’s a reliable way to get thoroughly fed up with it.
